Callsafe Services Limited are offering Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM2015) and other health & safety courses to those organisations that are, or will be, involved in the design and construction of HS2.
Callsafe were involved in various sections of HS1 (Channel Tunnel Rail Link (CTRL)) between 1999 – 2004. As construction health and safety specialists we worked in a variety of roles with the project management organisation Rail Link Engineering (RLE) (A consortium of Arup, Bechtel, Halcrow and Systra), providing expert input as safety management trainers and consultants, also forming part of the site safety management teams.
We developed and presented management training for project managers and team managers, designers, etc. Covering a large range of subjects including CDM, site safety, personal safety and responsibilities, accident investigations, the courses included the following titles:
- Health and Safety Briefing for Senior Managers
- Role of the Project Manager in Health & Safety
- CDM for Project Managers
- CDM Overview
- Risk Assessment in Design
- Revitalising Designers H&S Awareness under CDM
- CDM The Role of the Principal Contractor
- Construction Health & Safety Briefing
- Construction Health and Safety Awareness
- Risk Assessment
- Reviewing Method Statement
- Accident Investigation
- Office Health & Safety
Callsafe assisted RLE with the development of both CDM and general health and safety policies and procedures, which, where possible, were incorporated into the training provided.
We also worked within the RLE project teams as health and safety managers on several sections of the alignment including utility diversions in the Dagenham, Dettling & Maidstone sections. The role included the review of construction phase plans, risk assessments and method statements, site inspections, daily tours of the working areas along the alignments and implementing the Target Zero safety initiatives. Behavioural safety initiatives at the time were in their infancy within the UK construction scene and CTRL implemented one of the first programmes of behavioural observation teams.
Health and safety regulations and standards have moved at pace since the days of HS1, with CDM2015 amongst many of the changes. Callsafe Services Limited have been heavily involved in implementation of the new regulations with several major enterprises and government organisations including the Environment Agency. All our consultants and trainers have an unsurpassed detailed knowledge for the theoretical and practical iamplementation of legal requirements and industry best practice.
Callsafe Services Limited provide services as Principal Designers and Specialist CDM Advisors to clients and other duty holders. Currently we are one of the lead Principal Designers (incorporating the services of CDM Advisor) operating for the Environment Agency, working Nationally across a large portfolio of schemes providing a depth of experience, knowledge and skills, and a consistency of approach. We are also the provider of CDM training to Environment Agency staff.
Callsafe Services Ltd have won national recognition in award winning teams with ICE awards, APS national awards and Environment Agency Health, Safety & Environmental Exemplar Awards.
We are the main provider of ICE Training CDM2015 courses and have available other courses, such as those specifically for Principal Contractors/Contractors and on specific subjects including ‘The Synergy of CDM2015 and BIM’.
We are accredited by the Association for Project Safety (APS) for the following courses:
